March came in like a lion……And left like a lion that just ate a nice lamb dinner. But the forecast this first full week of April looks much warmer, sprinkled (no pun intended) with a generous supply of April showers. So, dare we say it? Spring is FINALLY here – which means it’s time to unpack your warm weather gear and stumble out of your cave because THIS is your invitation to welcome the season and come join us for a run!
And so begins the “live” part of the journey…..not the journey itself of course, because this is something that has been in the works for a while. Planning + prep + training was months in the making…..but now the time is upon us. BC*AC is proud to follow the adventures of 4 members as they go westward to take on a seriously “grand” challenge – the Grand Canyon! Good luck to Dan (running Rim to Rim to Rim) and Louan Minzner (hiking the Canyon) as well as Eric and Alysia Puma (both also running R2R2R) who have each readied themselves for the Canyon trip. We are hoping that there is cell service near the Canyon so we can publish any journey-logs they are keeping…..but if nothing else, we will post stories on their return. (more…)
It was a bit colder and wetter than planned…..but then again, it was early March in NJ. No matter, it was the season opener – and the BC*AC was ready to kick off the racing season. As the first in this year’s new BC*AC Race Series, the 3rd annual Run O’ the Mill 5K was a perfect venue to show off the new BC*AC racing gear….and some of the speed that can be gained with a year of strong training. With 7 finishers in the top 20 and several age-group podium finishes the club showed strong. (more…)
